Sapphires have always been one of my favorite gemstones, and this ring immediately captivated me with its elegance and deep, romantic blue. Surrounded by a halo of antique diamonds, the sapphire feels rich and luminous, while the softly individual character of the old stones gives the entire ring a warmth that is so different from modern jewelry.

Dating to the Edwardian era, circa 1900–1915, this beautiful antique cluster ring centers on a circular-cut natural sapphire weighing approximately 0.80 carat, surrounded by eight individually set antique circular-cut diamonds with an estimated combined weight of approximately 0.90 carat.

One of my favorite things about this ring is the character of the diamonds. Rather than the perfectly uniform appearance of modern brilliant cuts, each antique diamond has its own subtle proportions and facet pattern. Together they create a softer, more romantic sparkle that comes alive beautifully as the ring moves.

The arrangement forms a classic daisy or flower cluster, with the rich blue sapphire framed by a generous halo of diamonds. With approximately 1.70 carats of gemstones in total, the ring has wonderful presence on the hand while remaining elegant and exceptionally wearable.

The construction is particularly characteristic of antique jewelry of this period. The ring is fashioned in silver and gold, with the cool-toned silver setting providing a beautiful backdrop for the diamonds while the yellow gold shank adds warmth to the piece. This combination of silver and gold reflects an older jewelry-making tradition that was gradually superseded as platinum became increasingly fashionable during the early 20th century.

More than a century later, the design feels remarkably timeless. It would make a beautiful antique engagement ring, anniversary ring, or a special addition to a collection of genuine period jewelry.
